New Features

  • Alpha Correction Factor

-          Alpha Correction Factor can be applied in Advanced Calibration Settings to reduce warm up non-linear drift. Contact SMG to determine your devices Alpha Factor (included as standard from June 2026 production units). See SMG Website Blog for further information.

  • Hidden Advanced Calibration Settings

-          Advanced calibration parameters are now hidden to reduce risk of accidental changes

  • Live running gravity value

-          During a reading the chart and table view displays the current gravity reading

  • Improved Calibration Menu and Bias Calibration

-          Neater calibration menu

-          Easier to adjust Bias (the relative gravity value)

  • Updated Home Page

-          Cleaner home page user interface

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed project load error after power up or return from standby
  • Several minor bug fixes and UI improvements

 Known Bugs

  • None

Bug Fixes

  • Sorting Station readings in Measure view does not function properly

-          Fixed

Known Bugs

  • After powerup or when returning from standby UI may falsely report project loading error initially.

Bug Fixes

  • Temperature and Tide values in detailed station view

-          Fixed the incorrect values in these fields

  • Export column selection interface

-          Fixed UI interface for column selection tool

  • Current station plot

-          Temperatures and correction values now show absolutes.

  • Tablet / Phone layout

-          Fixed issues for UI display on smaller screens

New Features

  • Improved Project review and load screen, downloads page removed
  • Live reading, stdev and sterr in table view while a measurement is being taken, stopping an active reading saves current values and data
  • Start reading button becomes stop during reading
  • Ability to update physics core firmware with each software update
  • Improved UI for station name and station note edits

Known Bugs

  • After powerup or when returning from standby UI may falsely report project loading error initially.

2026_01_02_gaia_software_update_4c5f856

Bug Fixes

  • Drift calibration button not functioning

-          Drift calibration button now automatically triggers an automated project to collect drift data for calibration. The drift project will ignore levelling errors that have previously stopped projects.

  • Drift Calibration Result display errors

-          Fix display of drift calibration results (previously if not calculating a temperature correction, the graphs would display incorrectly, causing the fit to appear incorrect)

  • Calculating Drift Calibration Error

-          Fixed error when running the drift calculation if the station was not called the default "drift".

  • Project name duplication

-          Fix implemented to check for duplicate project names (previously it would not work if the current month or day were < 10)

  • Large project loading errors

-          Fixed some issues when loading very large projects (with > 600 stations)

New Features

  • NL (nonlinearity) corrections now implemented

Known Bugs

  • Levelling Errors

-          Levelling can trigger an error due to ‘timeout’ when performing larger levelling movements or in unstable conditions

§  Corrective action > Repeat station / levelling process
