This quick start guide will help you setup and use your GAIA-FIELD Gravimeter.

First Start
- GAIA-FIELD may arrive with discharged batteries
- Remove a battery and charge for ~30 minutes in the supplied Inspired Energy Smart Charger
- Raise the battery compartment lock to remove or replace batteries
- Re-install the battery and power up the unit with a long press on Power Button
- Connect the Dell Charger to the GAIA-FIELD Power USB – GAIA-FIELD will charge both batteries
- Leave the GAIA-FIELD for >6 hours to warm up and stabilize
NOTE: The Dell charger will NOT power up and charge the device batteries if they are fully drained.
Power Up and Standby
- Power On / Off using a long (>3 s) press on the power button
- Enable or disable standby mode with a short (<3 s) press on the power button
- Full power up cycle takes 1-2 minutes
WARNING: The GAIA-FIELD requires 12 hours warm up time before stable measurements can be achieved

Wi-Fi Connectivity
- Scan the ‘Connect’ QR code to save the Wi-Fi connection
- Ensure your smart device is connected to the correct Wi-Fi eg GAIA <Serial>
- Scan the Control QR code or enter http://192.168.9.1 to control the GAIA-FIELD via WiFI
- Enter http://192.168.8.1 to control the GAIA-FIELD via USB-C connection
- Multiple smart devices can connect to a single GAIA-FIELD
NOTE: Each GAIA-FIELD has a unique Wi-Fi connection

Start a Project
- Start a new project or load an existing project to take measurements via the Home menu
- Enter your Lat / Long and Elevation – which are used for tidal corrections
- Use the Project Settings menu to change station time and project location data if required
Calibrate your device (Calibration Menu)
- Once thermally stable (>6hrs), and with the unit in and stable a quiet location go to Calibration Menu and select Start Tilt Calibration (~7 mins).
- Once complete click Apply Tilt Cal
- Next perform a Drift Calibration (6-12 hours). Place the unit stable and quiet during calibration
- Stop the Drift Cal with the stop button and select Calculate Drift Calibration
- Confirm suitable calibration and click Apply Drift Cal
Take a Gravity Measurement

Export Data using the Export buttons below the results table. The exported data is downloaded directly to your device in CSV format
